Workshop for parents of trans people
"I am so much more hopeful for my child and better equipped to help them with any challenges they face." (Mum of 17 yo trans daughter)
You want your child to be safe in the world, and that they are comfortable in their own skin.
You want to know you are doing the right things to support them.
You have questions, worries, doubts. Maybe you feel like you can't talk about them.
Then this workshop is for you.
We will talk about...
- The most common feelings and thoughts of parents, and how you are not alone.
- Simple and powerful ways to help them thrive, even when the world is not friendly towards trans people.
- How you can make the difference for your child's wellbeing, and for you!
... and Q&A - anything else you want to ask about.
"The information was so helpful, nuanced and reassuring, it really helped me feel more settled, and have a clearer sense of where to focus my attention." (Mum of 10 yo NB child)

Presenter
Hi, my name is Ari Heart (they/them).
I am a therapist, educator, parent, and a trans non-binary person.
I have been supporting trans people and their families to navigate the various stages of their journeys for many years.
Throughout my work, I have continuously seen the urgent need for parents to receive high-quality and compassionate information and support when their child is gender diverse.
I not only care deeply about the outcomes for trans people, but I am also determined to support their families to find a greater sense of understanding, ease and connection.
I have seen, again and again, what is possible for families when parents are supported with good, accessible and nuanced information, delivered with empathy for the challenges of parenthood.
