Register for September 27th

Dungeons & Dragons is a social and collaborative storytelling game played using dice and your imagination. It can be so playful and excited and it can also be pretty daunting to get into!

Whether you’re just a little D&D curious, have watched hours of actual play streams, or have tried getting your friends together but the scheduling never works out this may be the space for you.

Details

  • Duration: 3 sessions of 3 hour duration
  • Time: Saturdays 1 - 4pm
  • Dates: September 27th - October 11th
  • Group Size: 3 to 6 players
  • Ages: 18+

Note: please contact us to join wait list for the under 18s group

What to Expect

Over three weekly sessions I’ll introduce you to the game, how to play, and make a character.

We will also cover some tips and tools we can use to make role playing games safer and more inclusive.

We will then make some characters and get to actually play through an adventure or two. If there’s some pronouns you’ve been wanting to take for a spin this could be an opportunity to try them out.

After the adventure we will have time for reflections and questions, including discussion of how to form or find your own groups.

About Heather

My pronouns are she/they and I am a trans woman of colour with a background in diversity education, creative writing, and live performance. For most of my life I was both curious and intimidated by Table Top Role Playing Games (TTRPG) until 2020 when I suddenly found myself with a lot more free time and a real need for some good connections and escapism. I had discovered a wonderful way to make new friends, express myself creatively, and explore new parts of my identity by going on adventures in a fantasy world that gave me the agency and social fulfilment I had been missing.

What I bring to the table:

  • Years of experience with both D&D and running events for queer people
  • A “special interest” level of knowledge about the game’s history and lore
  • Online access to all the rule books from the latest edition
  • Resources for those wanting to learn more on their own
  • A deep love for storytelling, drama, comedy, collaboration, and fun
