Trans Healing
Advanced Clinical Frameworks in Trans-Affirming Therapy
An on-demand training for therapists working with trans clients â through gender questioning, dysphoria, and internalised transphobia â towards genuine healing.
Most trainings stop at definitions and basic inclusion.
This one is designed for something more: the ability to sit with a trans client in genuine distress and know what to do.
This course is built for therapists who already understand the basics and want to work at a deeper level â with real clinical frameworks, not just principles.
If you've ever felt underprepared when a client is struggling with dysphoria, internalised transphobia, or the weight of navigating a world that doesn't fully see them â this training was built for that gap.
If youâve ever wished for clearer strategies to navigate dysphoria, internalised oppression, or the impacts of cisnormativity with your clients, this course will meet you there.
Youâll gain practical, evidence-informed tools to support your clients through the complex emotional and social terrain of gender exploration, dysphoria, and disconnectionâand learn how to offer truly attuned, transformative care.

Course Outline
Five modules built from over a decade of clinical practice, research, and direct work with trans clients and their families. Each module is approximately 90 minutes, delivered in shorter video segments.
1 - From Questioning to Integration: Supporting the Gender Identity Formation Process
A clear model for gender identity formation â one you can use to understand where a client is in their own process, what may be holding them back, and how to support their movement toward greater self-awareness and alignment.
Â
2 - Working With and Alleviating Dysphoria
An in-depth exploration of the causes of gender dysphoria and a practical 3-part Dysphoria Relief Framework. You'll develop the ability to help clients reduce the conditions that sustain dysphoria, understand their own triggers, find relief in the moment, and work toward meaningful long-term change.
Note: if you have already completed the Working with Dysphoria webinar, this module covers the same material in expanded form. The remaining four modules are entirely distinct.
3 -Â Emotional Safety & Responding to Experiences of Transphobia
Understand emotional safety for trans clients, and how to respond effectively when clients bring experiences of transphobia into the room. You'll learn what to listen for and the most effective interventions for rebuilding safety and wellbeing.
4 -Â A Return to Self:Â Supporting Gender Affirmation Decision Making
How to help clients who are stuck â uncertain, fearful, or overwhelmed â in their gender affirmation process, and support them toward greater clarity and authentic connection with themselves.
5 -Â Healing Internalised Transphobia
Bringing the course frameworks together, this module addresses internalised transphobia directly â what it is, how it presents clinically, and how to support clients on the path toward 'trans healing'.
What Practitioners Are Saying
Meet Your Trainer
Hi, I'm Ari Heart (they/them).
I'm a psychotherapist, educator, trans non-binary person, and co-founder of Trans Wellbeing. For many years I've worked with trans people and their families across the various stages of their journeys â and I've spent much of that time training other practitioners to do the same.
When IÂ began working with trans clients, I quickly realised that lived experience wasnât enough to guide me in working with other trans and gender diverse people.
When I began working with trans clients, I quickly realised that lived experience alone wasn't sufficient. When a client was in tears about their struggle with dysphoria, I could offer presence and empathy, but I wanted to be able to do more. I looked for the frameworks and strategies I needed. I didn't find them.
Mostly, they re-iterated similar principles about inclusion and respect â something I felt was setting the bar too low for where I wanted to take my practice and how strongly I wanted to help my clients.
It took many years of clinical work and hundreds of clients before I started developing the frameworks I use today - frameworks that now help clients experience meaningful healing in their relationship to their gender and body, often within just a few sessions.
My own experience as a trans person informs the depth of care I bring to this work. But it is the many thousands of hours of conversations with trans people and their families â the imperative and courage of authenticity â that has built most of the purpose and content of these programs.
My personal experience as a non-binary trans person informs the depth of care I bring to this work, but it is the many thousands of hours of conversations with trans people and their families that has built much of the purpose and content of our programs.
